The official name of “Nonhoi Park” is “Toyohashi Zoo & Botanical Park”. It is a comprehensive park with a vast area of approximately 40 ha. It is centered around zoo zones, such as the African Park, Australian Park, and Monkey Deck, which aim at an environment that resembles the natural environment of the animals. It is made up of a botanical garden zone that consists of a large greenhouse, flower beds, and gardens, an amusement park zone that has a large Ferris wheel, etc., and a natural history museum that introduces the evolution of living organisms and the nature of the birthplaces of animals.

In the Animal Park Zone, animals such as giraffes and zebras are raised and displayed in an environment that closely resembles the wild environment that they would live in. Here, visitors can see such environments. Also, the diving and swimming performances of polar bears in the Polar Animal Hall is modeled after other parks. You must see it.

The Plant Park zone is an area full of flowers and greenery that can give you “peace of mind”. Here, you can enjoy various plants during any season. In particular, in “the Monet Corner” of the Lily Park, you can see water lilies taken from the Monet Garden that were in the studio of the French artist, Claude Monet.

The Amusement Park Zone has amusement attractions that can be enjoyed by both adults and children, such as a large Ferris wheel, laser gun shooting, “The Legend of Vulcan,” and a merry-go-round.

At the natural history museum, you can experience the past from old periods in the history of the earth to new periods in its history, by looking back at the earth when it was born, 4.6 billion years ago, to the Paleozoic era, the Mesozoic era, a fossilized Edmontosaurus dinosaur from approximately 67 million years ago, and the Cenozoic era. A combination of dioramas and an abundance of fossils and replicas introduce the environments of each era and the changes of lifeforms, which allow visitors to learn about the long history of evolution, from the birth of the first life form to the appearance of humans on the earth.
