This direct course goes to the southern coast of the Atsumi Peninsula. The course uses multiple paths such as bicycle and pedestrian only paths as well as national routes. The road along the coast is gently-sloping for a comfortable trip while experiencing the sea breeze. The tourist spots on the way are also incredible.
This chalk white lighthouse is located on the tip of Cape Irago. It was selected as one of Japan’s 50 best lighthouses. This spot also has a wonderful view of Irago Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
It takes about 1km from the Cape Irago Lighthouse to the Hiinosekimon Sunrise Stone Gates facing the Pacific Ocean. The beautiful white sand Koijigahama Beach is curved due to the rough waves of the Pacific Ocean. This beach is famous for being the setting of the poem Yashinomi (meaning Coconut) by Toson Shimazaki. This place has been certified as a lover’s paradise along with the Cape Irago Lighthouse, perfect for proposing to your loved one.
The stones have a cave formed in the center due to wave erosion. There are stone gates in the ocean and stone gates on the shore which provide a breathtaking scenery at sunrise.
