This mountain path allows visitors to experience historical relics and nature. There is one mountain castle which has been left intact since the late 12th century and there are a number of highlights such as the Shitara Castle Ruins and pot holes (Kamabuchi) created by river erosion. There are signs on the course making it comparatively easy to handle.
This is a mountain castle constructed by the Shitara clan. Only parts such as the earthwork where the ruined castle monument stands currently remain. This is designated as a prefectural relic.
This tree around 800 years old is a designated natural monument by the town. It was called Daikokusugi because it looks like the hood for Daikoku, one of the 7 gods of happiness.
Pot holes refer to the round holes which open up on the river bed rock. Rocks which fall into depressions in the bed rock are continuously rotated over a long period by the river current creating these holes. The Niebuchi and Azukarifuchi are well known in Mikawa.
