On the slopes of the castle ruins originally constructed by the powerful Saigo Clan in the Nishikawa region at the base of Mt. Ishimaki, trim dogtooth violets are in full bloom. The dark pink petals are very pretty. This area is called “Dogtooth Violet Mountain” and many people are familiar with it.
