Imou Bog
See | Tourist Spots | NatureThis is a bog that formed in a place where springs that gush out of the Yumihari mountain system flow, and, compared to other bogs around the world, it has a unique origin. This type of bog is unique to the Tokai region. Imou Bog can boast about being larger than other bogs. It also exists in a scholastically unique location. Because a large amount of water flows here, a characteristic of this bog is its large number of rare plants and the fact that northern and southern plants grow here. In an area surrounded by an abundance of nature, visitors can view the plants that grow in the bog together with the plants that naturally grow on the dry land. You can also see plants unique to the region, such as Veratrum stamineum var. micranthum and Eriocaulon nudicuspe. This bog is designated as a natural monument by Aichi Prefecture
*Revegetation work was performed from January to March of 2012. Therefore, please understand that some areas may appear to be barren.
